Telephone Operator (Woodstock, Ontario)

This is a part time position with the potential for full time.
WHAT YOU’RE SIGNING UP FOR
Are you a people person who enjoys helping others? Perfect! As a Telephone Operator at our Message Centre, you’ll not only enjoy working as part of the Spectrum team, but you’ll be the welcoming friendly voice of our valued clients as well. Some of the responsibilities you’ll have each day are:
- Answer inbound call traffic and initiate dispatch that may be required (we answer inbound business calls only; we don’t call homes during dinner, we promise);
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service over the telephone and via two-way radio or face-to-face as needed;
- Accurate and timely dispatching of all calls based on client guidelines;
- Email and alarm monitoring and dispatching;
- On-call schedule management and data entry;
- And other duties as required.
Because we offer our clients round-the-clock telephone messaging solutions, we need a strong team to do the same. You must be available for day, afternoon and midnight shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays. Don’t worry; we’ve got a coffee maker on site and we make working holidays at the office fun.
WHO YOU ARE
If your friends would describe you as a friendly upbeat person, then we’d love for you to join our team. We’re looking for folks talented in critical thinking and multitasking, have a flexible schedule, and love team work. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Word and Excel, typing speed of 40 WPM and an OSSD is also required. Our people are what set us apart in this industry; and believing the importance of always exceeding client expectations is a cornerstone of what we look for from our people.
Due to the sensitive nature of some client accounts, police security clearances are required for this role.
On the job training is provided for all new team members, however, if you have experience as part of an answering service team, even better! Experience in this area is obviously an asset, but not a requirement.
