Spectrum Presents Peter Allen Award of Excellence in Emergency Telecommunications
Peter Allen was one of the first people hired at the London Central Ambulance Communications Centre when it was established in 1985. He retired in 2010 after reaching 25 years of service.
During his time as an emergency communications officer, Peter gained the respect of coworkers, paramedics, and hospital and nursing home employees, not to mention the countless people he comforted and assisted during their time of need. Through it all, Peter was quoted as saying there was never a day in his 25 years on the job that he did not feel like coming to work.
This award exemplifies the skill, professionalism and work ethic that Peter demonstrated. The recipient of the 2017 Peter Allen Award of Excellence in Emergency Telecommunications is Kaitlynne Jones.
Fanshawe College is in Kaitlynne’s family - her brother is a graduate from three programs. She is very proud to make the President’s Honour Roll for academic achievement at Fanshawe. Kaitlynne helped with the London Air Show and Fanshawe’s Open House. She has also helped her father teach martial arts. Kaitlynne hopes to become a paramedic.
Congratulations to Kaitlynne Jones on her accomplishments and being selected to receive the Peter Allen Award of Excellence in Emergency Telecommunications. We’re honoured to have been able to present her with this Fanshawe College School of Public Safety award.
